I’m Shelby.

Like many creative people, I spent years building a successful career while wishing I had more opportunities to create. As a wife, mother of two, and corporate professional, I found myself searching for an outlet that would challenge me, inspire me, and allow me to exercise a different part of my brain. 

​

That search led me to writing children’s books. What began as chasing an old dream to become a published author grew into Shelby L.B. Books, where I shared my books, writing journey, and creative adventures. As of today, I have two published children's books, with one more in the works to publish in 2027.

Shortly after announcing I would be publishing said books,  I discovered quilting.

What started as a hobby quickly became a passion. While many quilters love selecting fabrics and sewing blocks together, I found myself equally fascinated by the math and structure behind quilt design. As someone who has always enjoyed numbers and problem-solving, pattern creation has become one of my favorite parts of the process.

Shelby L.B. Books transitioned into Shelby L.B.-- a creative space where books, quilting, and handmade inspiration come together. While you’ll still find my children’s books here, quilting has become the heart of what I create. From original quilt patterns and curated quilt kits to merchandise inspired by creativity and making, this website is a reflection of the things I love most.
